HOTPOT East Asia Dance Platform III

Between suspension and inner gaze, recalibrating the coordinates of body and self

HOTPOT East Asia Dance Platform III turns inward to investigate gravity, memory, and cultural conditioning. Shenzhen-Hong Kong choreographic duo Wang Jiani and Feng Weidi capture a liminal state of suspension – neither flying nor grounded – through relentless kinetic breath. Meanwhile, independent choreographer Gunika Aniva employs minimalist, concentrated physical gestures to pierce through societal and cultural ‘filters’. Moving from physical resistance to internal introspection, the two works reveal the raw philosophical power of the contemporary body.
