When we turn our viewfinder towards society, we begin to notice what unfolds in its blind spots: accidents, tragedies, and lives too easily overlooked. Behind these scenes are the stories of those who lost their lives—and the painful realities that led them there.
What pushed them into society’s blind spots?
Beginning with this question, Aura was created to bring attention to the lonely deaths of workers. Rather than simply mourning their loss, the work seeks to confront the realities behind these deaths and restore meaning to lives that might otherwise disappear from view.
Aura is a song of mourning for those whose deaths remain without clear answers, and for those who lost their lives in the workplace to the cold, unforgiving machinery of labour.
LEE Eisul
Choreographer Lee Eisul has been dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation of Korean traditional dance through her work in theatre and drama. Recently, she served as the choreographic director for tvN’s Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born, expanding her artistic world by drawing on the unique choreographic style of women’s traditional Korean theatre.
