In a world saturated with information and driven by efficiency and constant stimulation, Ppong-Trance<\/em> turns to Korea\u2019s once-popular culture of \u2018tour bus dancing\u2019 as an unlikely form of dopamine detox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On tour buses speeding down the highway, passengers would rise from their seats and surrender themselves to the music, dancing with such abandon that the bus became a moving dance floor. What might appear to be simple entertainment was also a collective release\u00a0\u2013\u00a0a temporary escape from the pressures of everyday life and an almost ritualistic act of dancing away \u2018han\u2019, or deep-seated sorrow, until only \u2018shinmyeong\u2019, a shared sense of exhilaration and ecstatic joy, remained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
