There will be two free programmes at the West Kowloon Cultural District for the public to enjoy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n Me, a Man<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Whenever I go on a trip, all I want is to get away from this absurd world.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am drowning in my repetitive daily routine, just like Albert Camus\u2019 Sisyphus \u2013 forever rolling a boulder up a hill. Have you ever thought about the meaning of life?<\/span><\/p>\n

Local dance artist Hui Ka-chun asks similar questions in his creative works. The project Me, a Man<\/em>, is inspired by The Myth of Sisyphus, Hui\u2019s exhibition documents his thoughts, feelings and ideas about himself and society. Come and visit The Studio, Freespace to enter Hui\u2019s inner world through the various installations and enjoy the immersive experience of his cross-media digital self-portrait.<\/span><\/p>\n

You are invited to join Hui in this search to find ourselves among the absurd.<\/span><\/p>\n

WuDaoQingNian 2021 –\u00a0De-islandsation<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In troubled times like these, frustration and desolation crowd the mind. Wandering in darkness, we were anxious and distressed, as if we were walking across a frozen lake. We kept chasing our dreams, yet let ourselves be turned into \u2018isolated islands\u2019. In times like these, who will be left to keep watch over the wheatfield, to wait patiently together for the first rays of the sun?<\/span><\/p>\n

WuDaoQingNian 2021<\/em> is delighted to announced its new dance theatre performance De-islandsation<\/em> for City Contemporary Dance Festival. Choreographed by CCDC\u2019s Resident Artist Noel Pong, 17 selected students will take to the stage after ten months of professional dance training. Each dancer\u2019s body is stacked up to form \u00a0islands; encouraging us to chase our dreams even during the darkest and most depressing nights. Nothing can dim the light which shines from within. Let\u2019s pursue our dreams by joining hands and allowing our inner light to illuminate each other on the island.<\/span><\/p>\n
